SHIFT Over to Zoom!

SHIFT by Dana Perri has gone virtual! I am offering SHIFT classes online using ZOOM. You can take classes from the comfort of your home while we all stay at home.

What is ZOOM?

ZOOM is a web-based video conferencing tool. Students receive an invitation and log into a class through the ZOOM app. You can see and hear me on your screen as I lead each class. There are desktop and mobile apps available. You download them onto your device so we can communicate. You can use the ZOOM desktop app, which is available for Windows and macOS, while the mobile app is available for Android and iOS .

ZOOM allows you to take a virtual SHIFT class wherever you’d like to exercise. In your bedroom, home gym, living room, garage, or wherever you’re comfortable! It’s up to you.

When are classes?

I’ll post the SHIFT schedule of classes on the MindBody website, where class schedules have always been kept. The classes are for all levels. I’ll provide the modifications as we go. ZOOM classes will open 10 minutes prior to start time. Be sure to login early if you are new to this platform.

Memberships/Class Packages

Memberships will continue as always. If you have autopay monthly, it will continue and if you have class packages they will be deducted as you take class. Whether you have classes or need to purchase them, you will need to sign up 12 hours before each scheduled class you are participating in. Once you are signed up you will receive your ZOOM link and password information needed to attend.

You will still need to create a login and password for MindBody to sign up ahead of time. Mindbody

What If It’s My First Class?

You will need to download the ZOOM app first. You can use the ZOOM desktop app, which is available for Windows and macOS, while the mobile app is available for Android and iOS. If you have never attended SHIFT before, your first ZOOM class is FREE!

It will be most effective once you sign on to the meeting, to turn your volume all the way up so we can “chat before class” and say hello.  A few minutes before class begins I will MUTE your microphones so there is no audio interference.

Make sure your device (iPhone, ipad, Laptop, or Desktop) is fully charged and plugged in.  A strong Wi-Fi signal is recommended.

You will need a yoga mat, towel and water.  Feel free to wear sneakers for better traction or barefoot.  Whatever is most comfortable for you. If you have light weights, a resistance band or medicine ball feel free to use.  The workout is still super effective without the props. I will give modifications as we go. If you want to purchase lightweights, a band or a small medicine ball all of these are available at Amazon.

It seems a lot of the props are out of stock or on back order, but I suggest ordering anyway as we have no idea how long this is going to last.
