Dana Perri’s Recipe for Results

When Dana Perri started SHIFT five years ago, she didn’t set out to revolutionize the fitness industry. However, Dana’s workout system at SHIFT is truly a recipe for results.  Now it’s time for the rest of the world to find out about it!

SHIFT combines aerobic and resistance exercise in a non-stop, choreographed routine with intricate pacing, sequences, and intervals.  Performing the routine on a world-class spring floor guarantees the student the best possible results a full body workout can offer. Putting the routine to music and combining yoga, Pilates, dance, and aerobics simply makes it fun!

Anyone who has taken a SHIFT class knows Dana’s classes are anything but ordinary. She has the uncanny ability to know what every student is doing at any time during a class. She corrects and motivates every person in the class to get the best from everyone. An ordinary performance is unacceptable.

Non-stop Aerobic and Resistance Exercise

The key to the SHIFT methodology is non-stop aerobic and resistance exercise combined and set to motion. Dana has taken routine exercises and choreographed them into continuous sequences guaranteed to get the heart pumping and the blood flowing.

When Dana created SHIFT, she knew instinctively she was performing an exercise routine that would generate superior results. Her more than twenty years of dance, aerial artistry and choreography provided a foundation for SHIFT. Just as athleticism, flexibility, strength, and conditioning work together in dance, Dana didn’t separate fitness into its parts and isolate it. She saw aerobic and resistance training each as one side of the same coin.

Dana developed SHIFT to combine aerobic movements with resistance. Cardio exercises are combined with strength training exercises using lightweights, resistance bands and weighted medicine balls. Muscle groups are toned and strengthened while keeping the heart rate up.

SHIFT isn’t just about exercises though. Dana choreographs the exercises into sequences and adds intervals. Pace is important. Moving from one exercise to the another at a certain pace is an important part of the routine.

Results Without Injury

Students at SHIFT by Dana Perri get results.  Students talk about their energy levels, tone and strength.  They talk about weight loss and flexibility.  Most importantly they talk about feeling good about themselves.

SHIFT classes get results.  Better results than other exercise systems because Dana combined the science of exercise with the elegance of dance and the motivation of fitness. She pulled her method from different disciplines and didn’t pay attention to the rules.  She went with her instincts and felt what worked.

Exercising on the spring floor reduces the risk of injury greatly.  Many students taking a SHIFT class have bad knees, backs, and shoulders. The spring floor absorbs the impact instead of the student’s body.  The spring floor challenges the core muscles and creates a stronger body. Dana’s routines play to the strengths of the spring floor. She’s adept at knowing the exercises that combine to work with the floor and its absorption and spring.
