The Mind-Body-Spirit Connection

Every day, students at SHIFT by Dana Perri experience the SHIFT philosophy:

Shaping How I Feel Today. . .

SHIFT is an acronym that underscores the belief every one of us is unique and able to make choices to shape our lives one day at a time. Every day we have an opportunity to purposely influence our health and well-being by tapping into the mind, body, and spirit. We can choose to positively influence our lives and shape our direction.

When a SHIFT student attends class with our trained, certified instructors, he or she is tapping into the mind’s ability to focus and obtain goals. Each student attending a SHIFT class comes with intention. There’s a purpose and reason for attending. It may be a weight loss goal or improving stamina or overall fitness. SHIFT’s combination of strength and cardiovascular training creates the opportunity for students to push themselves and reach their potential.

Part of making a commitment for self-improvement is discipline. It takes discipline to attend classes regularly and to put in the effort to get results. It’s hard work to improve your fitness level.  It doesn’t come easy. Holding yourself accountable and reaching your potential is a learned process. The students in the SHIFT community know about discipline and accountability and motivate each other to get results.

SHIFT students get results from regular workouts featuring Dana Perri’s SHIFT methodology. SHIFT combines cardiovascular and resistance exercise in a non-stop, choreographed routine with intricate pacing, sequences, and intervals.  Performing the routine on a world-class spring floor guarantees the student the best possible results a full body workout can offer. Students improve their strength, tone, flexibility, and stamina.

The SHIFT methodology gets better results than other exercise systems because it combines the science of exercise with the elegance of dance and the motivation of fitness. It combines different disciplines to exercise the body from different angles in different ways. It’s not just cardio. It’s not just strength training. It’s a unique combination that elevates the practitioner to new levels and greater results.

Students also feel the spirit of SHIFT every time they attend a class.  Working out at SHIFT is a choice. Students are motivated participants in a continuous improvement process. The energy flow during a class is palpable. The class is elevated to a peak level of motivation where intention meets action and results are willed.

SHIFT is a community where relationships are a key part of the improvement process. The community knows it’s hard to show up to class four or five times a week and give it your all.  Students talk and share their common experiences. They get to know one another, and friendships are formed. The SHIFT Community embodies the spirit of SHIFT by Dana Perri.
