The SHIFT Community Is the Power

Dana Perri’s concept of SHIFT as a force of change in fitness hinges on an unsung hero – the SHIFT Community.

Every student who joins SHIFT by Dana Perri becomes a vaulted member of the SHIFT Community.  The barrier of entry isn’t high but it’s an exclusive group. Students not only participate in  classes, they share the common experience of pushing and challenging themselves, as they will their bodies to new limits.

Students in the SHIFT Community talk and experience with each other.  They support one another in every class.  It’s a very positive, uplifting environment unlike most studios and gyms today.  A new student will be greeted with a hearty “Hello!” from the other students in the class.  Everyone exchanges names and, over time, gets to know one another.

The SHIFT Community also participates in a variety of group activities.  From Fun Runs to birthday celebrations, this incredible community comes out in force to lend support.  We do fundraisers for breast cancer, support hurricane relief efforts as well as other worthy causes.  It’s a group of people with a common purpose – to better themselves and others.

At the heart of the SHIFT Community is creator and founder Dana Perri.  Her vision for helping the masses comes to life in every class.  Students root for one another.  Hoots and hollers of encouragement rain down on the students as they challenge themselves to complete each exercise fully and completely.  When Dana leads a class, her sheer force of will is felt by each student.  She sees each person and knows their feelings.  She knows what they’re trying to accomplish.  She knows when to encourage or step back and let it take its course.  She soaks up the energy from the class and delivers it back in spades to the students. A class is never left unspent.

SHIFT by Dana Perri is more than a fitness studio.  It’s more than a full body circuit workout.  It’s a wholistic experience calling into play the physicality, motivation and desire to make a change in their lives.  The community knows it’s hard to show up to class four or five times a week and give it your all.  Every student knows it’s not easy and is willing to talk and share the common experiences.  Everyone in a class is everyone’s workout buddy.  It’s not a group of individuals at work.  It’s the SHIFT Community at work.
